I See Pussies Everywhere

Working in the adult industry means I see pussies everywhere. I’m also keenly aware that many women don’t have this same experience. In fact, too many grown women have never (or very rarely) looked at their pussy. Yet, they have a feeling there’s something “wrong” with their parts. The rise of labiaplasty in the US (partially attributed to the mainstream porn industry’s preference for minimally visible inner labia), highlights the crucial need for better education about vulva anatomy.

In 2024, Momotaro Apotheca commissioned 200 original drawings of diverse vulvas to be mailed to their customers as part of a campaign to combat the shame many women hold about the shape and size of their labia.

Pussies feature across my body of work, from vagina magnets, to dangly doodles, pussy paintings, and even murals. Depicting vulvas in a de-sexualized context allows me to explore naturally occurring variation (along with pubic hair) rather than prioritizing mainstream porn’s pedophilic gaze which reinforces cis men’s conditioned preferences for prepubescence.
